We had a slight fish kill of cichlids over the last few weeks because of the overnight 30's temperatures we've had, but the peacock bass fishery of South Florida in Miami is alive and well. George and Marcia Darnell caught about 25 peacock bass on shiners up to 4 lbs. and we saw quite a few larger ones that were stingy. Spring is coming to South Florida which means great largemouth bass in the Everglades and butterfly peacock bass in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.
