Not to get all mushy and non-manly like, but I really do love this site.
I have all the normal stuff like gmail, facebook, yahoo IM and various other things we think we can't live with these days.
I am very rarely on them. However, I log on and check this site 4-5 times a day.

The knowledge, information and general "goodness" of people makes me feel good to be a part of it.

I won't go into name dropping, but the information on this site has made many a memorable trip for a lot of people, old, young, kids, wives.

Some of the ideas, advice, warnings and general safety tips are awesome.
If it hasn't saved a life yet, I bet it will in the future.

I have an idea I would like to propose to increase boating and fishing safety though out the state, but am not sure how or where to start. Obviously there will be money or donations involved (not for me, the project []). If anyone is interested and curious, PM me and I'll try to explain. It isn't something new or original, it is something I seen at a body of water in a another state, free to use life jackets. Thought it was a heck of an idea and I would like to copy it. If it had a BFT sponsorship...?

Except for during the winter (and obviously even sometimes then), I'm on this site daily. In fact, I got behind in work today, because I kept taking breaks to see new posts. Now I have to work on Saturday [:/] to catch up. If it wasn't so cold out, I'd even slack off then to go with FishKillr!

Anyhoo.
I have a life jacket I could donate! It's one I used years ago, when I was littler... I've outgrown it - just barely! LOL
Besides, I decided I wanted a brighter one, so people could see me in the water. My old one is dark blue with purple straps.
Where/when should I donate it?

I think its a great idea. I would be willing to donate time in the summer to such a cause. I love the site too, and think the idea is awesome. Let me know when/if I can help!!!,

Nope, Never have. I think for it to be affective it would need to be at peak hours and on peak waters.....PV, UL and a few others have the heavy boat traffic to support such a thing.

I too am fairly new to this site. It has helped me in many ways. I guess I am kind of an addict. I log on at work and check it when at home. Before I fish and soon after.

I am perma logged in on the lap top and home desk top and have mama trout logged in too. I will occasionally log in at the hotels I stay at if the lap top is off and packed away.[cool]
I do gotta say that I have learned a lot from this site if not for fishing then at least for all the doo dads that I have added to my toon etc....

I agree! I've met quite a few people. I've recieved tons of help and advice. I check almost daily, if I'm not fishing all day long.
