I put in at Chester Frost this morning about 11:00 to go plant some Crappie Hotels. It took about an hour and a half to get them out where I wanted them and decided to fish for a little while, emoSmile Between the flow, (around 125K) and the 40-41* water temps I didn't expect to catch any crappie but did have some success, emoThumbsup I fished an hour and 45 minutes and caught 9 black crappie. Only 3 of the 9 were keepers, emoSleepy 1 was a baby of 5 inches, emoSmile But, it was fun anyway and not too cold, :o The water was racing and almost impossible to fish in the river, also pretty stained up so I tried a couple bays/sloughs but the water temp was still only 42* at the warmest place. Found fish in 15 FOW on a 10 count with a 1/16th leadhead and a BG crystal shad with a tail light, emoThumbsup They were fun but very soft bite, the rod just loaded up, there was no "hit", emoRolleyes I know better days are coming, the question is, WHEN emoQuestion Too much current, too cold water temp* and the levels are goin' up and down like crazy, emoMad I bet the fish don't even know where they are, emoConfused
