[font "Calibri"]The FishTail Cutting Board provides the customer with a more convenient way of filleting fish by using the tailgate of a pickup truck. The FishTail will cover the existing metal that makes up the tailgate with a cutting board made of wood and grooves available on all sides for excess tools. The tailgates of pickup trucks vary in size depending on the model of the truck so therefore the sizes of the cutting board and tailgate attachment will vary. All tailgates are different and the TailFish Cutting Board will be universal for all tailgates by either using suction cups to firmly attach to the tailgate and allow for easy removal for cleaning. I have a thin plastic cutting board that I could see being used on the bed of my truck, but probably not wood. I bet you could even have a material that rolls up w/suction cups on it. It could have a holder for fillet knife.
I don't think I would buy a wood one though.
I'm sure there are folks out there that would be interested in this idea. Myself though I already have a fish cleaning board. It looks like a paddle ( like the teachers fanned your hind end with in school LOL) with a metal spring clamp on the end to secure the tail in while scaling. I really like mine and I wouldn't want it secured to anything. It works great and is a breeze to clean when done. Best of all it's easy to stow just about anywhere. Don't let this put you off though. your idea may just be what the next person is looking for. I wish you good fortune and God Bless. Dave [Image: happy.gif]

Dave,

Did you purchase the item you currently use for cleaning or did you make it yourself?

My wife bought it at Wal-Mart for me about 2 years ago. My Brother-in-law has one also. He got his from Bass Pro. Below is a pic of my board. it is about 24" long by about 8" wide.[inline "Fish Cleaning Board.jpg"]
