The wife and I went to the Expo today at the Salt Palace. Good exhibits I thought and not as congested as it has been in the past. Some good prizes being raffled off as well. Wether you like him or hate him Doyle Moss has an excellent exhibit dislaying animals taken this past season. The Expo also has a huge area with local taxidermist having their work on display while being judged and receiving ribbons, some great mounts and some not so great, but nice to look at and compare their work. Deffinately a morning well spent. Hopefully one of us will get lucky and draw one of the tags we applied for.

I went too. I absolutely hated the mossback booth. What a disgusting display of what is wrong with hunting these days. I liked to see the animals but to know, how they were harvested, the laws broken to do so and knowing what was paid for the hunting; I wanted to puke.

I also thought the displays and contents of the expo were ridiculous. Nothing informative, nothing to learn nothing to see except the taxidermy competition. I really enjoyed the taxidermy competition.

I hope people who put in draw what they wanted. And if you see the mossback crews vehicles blocking access roads I hope someone gives them what they deserve.

Sounds like you should have stayed at home and saved your time and money. We enjoyed it, I like it much better than the South Town expo mess. I enjoyed talking to the representitives in several booths, and having the ivorys out of the wife's WY. bull made into a set of ear rings for her. [cool]

Everybody complains about Mossback and how "UNETHICAL" they are, but yet no one can ever prove it. Nobody ever takes pics of them blocking roads or transporting ranch bulls by helicopter to public lands. [crazy]
In my opinion, it's all a bunch of crap!!!
Doyle Moss is the best guide ever to roam the earth, and that's a fact. The Mossback team is responsible for more state records and Trophy book animals than any guide service in the world (Not to mention a "World Record") They work hard, scout hard and because of the success they have, and the quality of bulls they can find, we get more money for conservation. Guys are putting up 100s of thousands of dollars to hunt elk in Utah and that money goes to conservation so that our kids can have an opprotunity at a trophy class bull.
I know quite few people that know Doyle and people that don't know him but have hunted an area he is in. They all have good things to say about him and his team.
Personally the only reason I go to the expo is to look at the Mossback Booth and pick up thier new videos for the past season. Without the Mossback team at the expo, it would be worthless and a waste of time to even pay the entrance fee.

[#ff0000]I have met Doyle on several occasions and he is a very personable guy. His story on how he got Mossback off the ground is incredible. He is a guy that has put in his time and now people glow in envy of his success of his profession. He simply works to get people on animals.

Dont get me wrong I cant stand how all outfitters, guides and private land owners including Doyle are pushing for rules and regulation changes that affect the amount of tags for all of us and also the dates and durations of our hunts. These individuals throw big money around to pass regulation changes and the mass public gets the shaft.

[#ff0000]I wondered how the expo would handle FNAWS going back to Reno this year, and the taxidermy showcase was a great idea and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I spoke with a few outfitters and the guys from Davis Tent. I have to wait till Aug 5th to graduate and make plans on a fishing or hunting trip.[/#ff0000]
