rolled up at 0712 and started fishing below the bridge right away and caught 5 little tiny browns right off the bat with a brown streamer... started making my way down river a bit and past a gentleman fishing, said hello and made my way.... once i got down to the second bridge i had already landed 19 fish, 10 of which were browns. no need to say what the others were =-p went back up river and chatted with the gentleman again, and it turns out it was FlyFlicker!!! he was doing quiet well himself! i ran back to the truck and left him some BFT, fishing.net and fishing.org stickers. a buddy of mine showed up when i went back down to the second train bridge, hell sign up soon.

i cant even count how many browns and whitties we both caught. biggest brown at that hole ran about 16 inches, and he caught it... i happened to catch (yes in the mouth/suck hole) the biggest whittie i have ever seen! no joke this thing EASILY went 5lbs.

we took the trucks and moved down river to another spot i know and we were checked by the CO's. im glad they were out to say hello and ask for our licenses! they showed us where people had laid beaver traps and a bobcat trap and to be careful not to walk through them.

in this hole i caught and landed the biggest brown of the day, a solid 21 and 3/4 tank. got him on my very first cast also. my buddy bailed a few more on a green spinner. its amazing how much garbage we picked up out of there.... anywho right after we got checked by the CO's i stuck my fly out into the current to straighten the leader and saw this sweet little flash... another brown, maybe 15.5 inches, about 4 feet from me.... scared me so bad i slipped in the mud and landed on my fat ass.

i have pictures im going to add but my camera is in my waders and im to tired to get up right this second... i got a great pic of FlyFlicker working a hole and the fish pics... all in all a great day.

oih yea... if anyone ever tells you that you cant put to many layers of cloths on, they are wrong.... i was cooking out there and many times had to go chest deep to cool off.

for flies.... a 22 red copper john, with a 22 silver'ish copper john that Trout_Slayer taught me how to tie.... that was on the bottom and the fly of the day!!

enjoy

It was nice to meet you Zak and thanks for the decals. I tried your fly downriver from where we parted and managed a whitie that might have come close to your big one. I managed to snag it in the pectoral fin so it put up quite a fight on my 3 wt. Several browns gave it their seal of approval also.

Are those trap's visible? Easy to spot?

mot at all.... the CO's happened across one of the beaver traps and the bobcat trap.... he said typically when you find one there are more around. as a matter of fact my buddy damn near stepped on one but found another one.... they are kinda out of the way though, and unless your pounding around in obvious beaver territory, you wont step on one
