Andy and I fished for a bit over an hour this afternoon. We started off fishing where we've been catching tons of nice fish. We zeroed there and tried the area twice. We fished a dock close by and we caught 5 or 6 smallish fish but the fish really weren't very active this afternoon. The fish we caught were in the darkest shadow of the dock. Today was the first sunny day in I don't know how long. Andy had to get to a meeting and so we went back to the house. I was tempted to go back out but TR20bh and J. Frost were in the area and asked me if I wanted to go with them and of course I said yes. While waiting for them to get me at the dock I threw to a nearby brushpile and caught 3 on the first 5 casts. They picked me up and we fished the brushpile from the boat for a while and caught bunches of fish but all but two were non-keepers. I would say that we caught around 20 to 30 off the pile but I didn't keep count. TR20bh hopefully will have a better count for you. We tried one other place and zeroed there. All of my fish were caught on PAs on 1/32 oz heads at right around a 5 count over the brush and an 8 count on the dock. The water in the creek has warmed into the upper 40s per TR20bh's temp guage. That is up nearly 10 degrees from last weekend. I would expect that with the warming water has put the fish on the move and the most active fish were on a sun drenched flat next to the WT creek channel. By the end of the weekend the water temp might be even quite a few degrees higher as very warm weather is forecast and lots of sun. Hopefully I'll get out a few more times this weekend.
