I have been up to gorge 4 times now looking for burbot. Each trip we have ended up with 1 each. Except last trip 2/13/10 . 2 friends and I went up and around Buckboard we finally found a few. 30 total burbots in which one was a whopping 36" long. wish i had pictures (no camera sorry) and 3 macks 3 to 4 pound range and then a 8 pound rainbow. We plan on taking another trip weekend of2/27/10. hope to find them again. Have a phone with camera now.

PS 36" burbot was landed about 2 hours before dark.

36" burbot AND a 8 pound rainbow. Sounds like a great fish STORY.

Hey thanks for the fishing report. glad you got into the burbot and rainbows to. My biggest this year is 31" on burbot all the rest were small. I saw post on here i think it was last fall someone was holding up a huge burbot they caught out of a boat.

every burbot is one less in the lake cleaning it out.

Think what you may!
I will tell you the burbot was excellant eating, and of coarse i'll tell you that the rainbow would taste like any other trash fish. (won't eat trout, nasty tasting). Nice to catch and release tho.

P.S.

The only thing I might tell a story about is where I was when caught the fish.
