emoBang emoBang emoBang

This morning started with the motor working great and we got off to a good beginning. Decided to go across the river from Roseberry to a main river pond I know of. Started trapping it and had a hit fairly quickly. Set the hook and nothing there. Decided it was grass but when I reeled in there was a scale on my bait. emoAngry That was our only hit there. Left there and hit another pocker down river. Nothing, left there and hit goose pond. Nothing. It had been a couple hours and I told CCSM lets head up river to the areas I know best. Fired up the motor,... still running great. Got up on plain and was running about 65 mph at 5800 RPMs. emoSmile Suddenly the motor started shutting down. emoDoh emoMad NOW WHAT!!! Let's see, two years ago I had to buy a whole new block and power head after blowing that one up. Last year I had to buy a whole new lower unit after that one self distructed. All new seals, new spark plugs and brand new starter last week. AHHHH!!!!!! emoBadLanguage

The good side of it was we were about 200 yards before the entrance into Roseberry. Try as we did it would not run. Sounded like it was not getting gas. Checked what we knew and nothing. Started trolling into Roseberry and we trolled and trolled and trolled some more. emoBadLanguage About two miles later it was 1:00 oclock and still had a half mile to go. We figured out that if James sat on the back of the boat and pumped the bulb on the gas it would idle enough to crawl in. So the last half mile James got a work out pumping the bulb while I tried to run it enough to keep it going without killing the motor. emoGoofy

May be the bulb is bad, may be the gas filter is bad or may be the electric fuel pump has gone out. :emoticon: Whatever it is I was glad when today was over.

Congrats to the winners on a great sack. Carter and partner had about 25 lbs with their best five which sounds like it would have won any tournament down there today. Their best three for 16 lbs was something. Also congrats to Fishnjunkie for big bass at 7.84. Funny thing is last year that held big bass for the year in the CFF for me at that same weight. emoThumbsup Jmax
