I couldn't make it up to the Starvation Perch Party today so I headed out this afternoon to Rainbow Bay after chores and honey-do's are done. Got on the ice by 3:30, hiked out to a GPS spot and found no fish. Headed out to another spot and found some activity on the finder. I dropped my jig down and was able to pull up a feisty male, about 8". I was able to jig up most of the fish on the finder ranging from a dink 6" to a fat 9" female. Left the ice at 5:30 when the bite pretty much died. Edges of the ice were still good and overall ice thickness is still around 10". Went home with enough for dinner or two.

Looks like a decent outing George -- especially for only being able to fish for such a short period of time.

I wondered if you were over the hill when we were there on Friday. (No pun intended. [
]) Glad to see that you found some perch willing to play this time!
Check out my recent post and you'll see our familiar visitor from the week before. Fortunately, my son made use of the camera - and pulled in a nice bow! [cool]
THANKS FOR THE TIPS!
Maybe we'll get a few more weeks on the ice, but with 50+ degree days on the upswing, if I don't see you at DC, I'm planning on a boat trip with ya this year! [

Thanks, Kent! I probably spent a third of that time drilling holes and trying to
find the fish. Once I found them, they were more than willing to bite.
