My brother in Law is in town from Washington for a couple days. We're hoping to hit Ririe ice fishing Thursday morning. Does anyone have recent report on the ice conditions? Specifically, how thick? Are the edges worrisome? And do we have to worry much about slush on top? Also if anyone is willing to suggest where the fish have been hitting lately (kokes and perch) I would appreciate any help that way as well but can get by. A PM would be fine as well if you aren't wanting to advertise a spot, but primarily just need conditions.

Thanks in advance!

Today (the 2nd) there was 14-15 " of ice NW from the ramp in 55 to 100' of water. Looked like ATVs had broken the ice by the ramp this evening but I pulled my sled w/o a problem next to the dock. There is about 1 foot or so of the rock island above water so it is slowly rising. There was no slush this evening as we left just after dark. Fished 1 1/2 hours landed 1 and lost 2 kokes. Main goal was to have my 4 year old catch a fish. He reeled in one and lost one.

I know its a little late but I was up there today. The edges are ok. The four wheelers have broke through on the ramp but there were guys putting out planks to drive there wheelers across. You can walk down the boat dock and get on the ice just fine. Hope this helps.

Just got back from Ririe. Like was said, edges are soft, give them a wide berth! Other than that the ice is thick. I did go through where the 4 wheelers broke through at the ramp. Figured it would be ok. Just went in to my boot top. Got on the dock and went out 10 feet and it was just fine. Ice is about 12-16" thick at the various spots I tried. Had a few small groups come by, 6 hits, 2 solid ones, couldn't actually set a hook on any of them though. None of the schools stuck around for more than about 30 seconds or so. Saw one koke landed and lost some bait to what was probably a perch. Fished from 5 to dark.
