Hey everyone. New here to the forum.

I have fished all my life, and was born and raised here in Nevada. Have always prefered warm water fishing. Anyway, I have been in central Nevada for about 10 years now. About the only fishing around here is trout fishing in the small streams. I have finally decided to try and get into fishing Lake Mead. I am familiar with largemouth fishing, smallmouth, etc., etc., but have never fished for stripers. I want to get started fishing from the shore with my wife and daughters this spring before I start hauling the boat down.

I'm not expecting anyone to cough up their hot spots, I am just looking for a few good areas to shore fish for stripers from this spring and early summer. I would prefer the Overton Arm since it is closer to home and I have heard there are fewer people (I would prefer fewer people). Any tips and tactics would be welcome also.

Thanks a million in advance for anything you can tell me. Just "fishing" for information.

I have never done bad at stewarts point in the overton arm..Every trip I have taken up there have been 15+ fish days. Get there early.. chum up the water with ground anchovies or sardines. Then start baitfishing with chovies. You will hook up with something.

Oh and welcome to the forum =)

Thanks Sil.

Someone had mentioned Stewart's Point to me a while back, so with your recommending it as well, I am definitely going to give it a shot.

I appreciate the tip. About what time of year do you think is best. Is it still a little early?

Thanks again.

mid April - September is the months I have done the best up there.. Im sure you could still catch something if you went up there now.
