on saturday a buddy of mine told me he wanted to learn to FF so i took him to anglers den to get some good line and he went and got a starter kit rod and reel at wally word... we rigged him up and hit the weber. it was nice all of the way until around noon when the strom blew through but i love it when its crappy out like that, keep the other fair weather fisherman off the water. he hooked alkot of fish but dident land anything until we hit the third hole. after getting 10 to 15 casts in and trying to help him as much as i could he landed his first fish on a fly rod and it was a pretty little brown. i think it was 3 casts later he nailed his first whittie on a fly rod. we kept working up catching a ton of fish here and there. all in all it was fun to see him get hooked on FF'ing. he says thats what he wants to do all the time now. hot flys is what i usually use for that section, red copper john, and something in silver on the bottom.

enjoy!

Hey Bud, I really like this report and what you did. Good on ya. If I wasn't so old and self centered I'd be doing this too. Maybe I could help out sometime with you or others. I'd prefer to be a 3 rd. guy since I'm lacking in PR and endurance. Anyway, good on ya. What did you do with the sucker and whittie? I could keep em for dinner for my fee. [Smile][Smile][Smile]

Bait is good, especially for kitties. [Wink] Can't talk you into frying it up, huh? Didn't think so.[frown] Actually they ain't that bad but you've got to consider the source (the old carp eater himself). [shocked] Just a might bony but big suckers have big bones.
