Last night, my wife and I ate at the Olive Garden at Valley Fair Mall. After eating our salads it seemed like our main dish was never going to arrive. I almost was ready to ask our waiter if she would make sure that our order had not been lost. Our main dish finally arrived (I am guessing about 25 minutes after they took away our salad plates). We never said anything to the party who brought our food to us, except to thank her. Right after the food arrived, a person who seemed to have some authority, arrived at our table and profusely apogized for our order taking so long. We thanked him for his apology, but again never complained about how long it had taken. It was a little noisy and we weren't sure about everything that he said. We finished our delicious meals and our waiter brought our bill. I handed her three gift cards to run for payment of the order. She returned a few minutes later with a revised bill charging us only for our drinks. She said the manager had insisted that we not be charged for our meals because they had arrived so late. We thanked her profusely and left a very generous tip. Refreshing to be treated so kindly for something that we didn't even consider a big deal.

I second Olive Garden for being a great establishment.
Last year my office had a lunch get together in Layton and one plate order came waaaaay later then the rest and he received and nice $50 gift card and the meal was free.
I love the lunch special of soup and salad and will continue to go there for years to come.

I often get the bottomless soup and salad. It has been my experience, that they will serve that anytime if one asks for it.

It is nice to see that some companies are customer service oriented. I had a similar problem at a pizza joint where they gave our order to a table full f cops. Theirs was similar to ours. The pizza joint brought us their pizza and apologized and then brought us another pizza exactly as we ordered it. We got a free pie out of the deal.[cool] Other places I have found will do similar things to keep their customers, especially these days since a lot of people don't go out anymore due to the economy.

It's refreshing to hear about good customer service in this day and age. Some people just get it and some don't. Those that are successful have figured it out.
I often send a note to the corporate office of Les Schwab Tire Centers for their continued mastery of customer service.
