[left]Last week’s kids fishing derby was a success with approximately 200 fish caught. The favorite baits were power bait and worms. Most fish were caught on the bottom. The temperature was much cooler than down at the lower elevations. A perennial favorite pattern for fly fisherman is a black or carpenter ant pattern on alpine lakes like Angel lake and Smith Lake.
