I finaly found a job after being layed off for 5 months here in Idaho Falls. Unfortunatly that means I am here without my wife and kids through the week . So to take my mind off that I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions where I could fish after work. I have floated the South Fork a few times with friends that know the area well, but never ventured out alone. Is there anywhere close to town or within a short drive? I love to fly fish, but catching fish will trump my addiction to fly fishing. I am not a purist. Thanks in advance, and man am I glad to be back in Idaho.

20 minute drive will get you into the Lorenzo Bridge area on the SF. Just a bit north of Rigby on Hwy 20. Some decent BWO and midge hatches.

70 Minutes will get you to the Big Lost which is one of the better dry fly rivers in the area in this time of year. I like the 2nd access point below Mackay Res. It is open till the 28th of March. Nice BWO hatches starting in the late morning.
