Just got back from checking ice conditions at Starv in hopes of getting one more perch-jerk'n trip in.
Two weeks ago there was over two feet of solid ice. Now there is a lot of standing water on top of the ice, open water out to 4' to 5' from shore and very soft and slushy ice in other shoreline areas. The main lake ice is now very rotten looking. Cloudy and slushy.
It won't take much now to take the ice off.
It is time to get the boat shined up and ready for some spring walleye action.
