This has been my first season ice fishing and I know that many of the lakes around the SLC valley are getting soft. I've heard that strawberry doesn't melt until late April or May. Is this right? Anybody been up there lately? What's the ice like?

I was up there today. No sign of spring yet. I fished at the ladders and my auger barely made it through the ice. Windy and COLD!

Yeah, it looked like it was going to be a cold one today! How did you end up doing?

Caught seven between about 8 and 1 pm. All were cutts and the biggest went 24 inches. Fishing died at about 10:30. The wind made for some tough fishing.
