Due to all the construction and detours, I launched at AF boat harbor instead of Lindon. Water temp was cold, air temp was even colder. Half inch of ice in the boat due to that little storm Friday night. Fished my "spot" and threw everything I thought would work. No fish. Hit the dikes/rocks at Lindon BH. nothin. checked for fish at the inlet by AF boat harbor, no marks, didn't even cast. fished AF boat harbor, opposite shore of the docks, all the way back. No fish. Threw a lot of different plastics, pitched for LM on the rocks. didn't run into anybody to ask how they were doing. Beautiful day by myself on the lake. Boat ran strong, no first trip issues.
Might go out this morning. Maybe the day of calmer weather yesterday will gettem bitin..
All the fish are still south, I guess.

Hey Ripnlip, sounds like us were going to try lindon and American fork harbors both yesterday but when we got to lindon where you cross the tracks to the gate to lindon they had the ROAD CLOSED[frown] Working on some pavement issues at the track and lady said didnt know when they were opening it back up yesterday. Wow I have to say they need to start on one end and work there way all the way from lindon to american fork as those roads are all in pretty bad shape.
We started working our way back to american fork and through more construction and got to american fork harbor. We fished inside and outside the harbor from about 3pm to 8pm and only had a few bites on minnows and worms. I had some good hits on some of my curly tails I make in a new Glow in the dark Chartruese color and white but missed those to. I also had some small bites that stole part of my worm on my small curly tails to thinking those were probably white bass.
Well no fish for us either but that was my son and I first trip to utah lake. There was still alittle bit of ice pushed up melting on the shore line and the water is pretty cold yet so we figured between cold water temps and our first try at Utah lake that we might not do so well, but thats not going to get us we will be back again very soon when the water temps start to warm up and then we will try it again.
Thats a big lake for sure and lots of places to learn and explore. hey ripnlip was that you in a looked like a dark blue color bass boat? if so we saw you fishing along the inside of the AF harbor on the east side along those rocks back up towards the dock when it was getting dark? well weather is warming up and wont be long and we will be back to try again and maybe take the boat to.
Good luck fishing

Nope. wasn't me. i was on the water by 8:15 and off by noon-ish. Not sure if it is posted anywhere on line, but there are some maps at Lindon boat harbor that show you how to get there while the construction is going on. Have to go down to Provo, get on Geneva road and come up from the south. There is actaully a road sign on I-15 between the AF 500 exit and the Lindon exit that tells you what exit to take to get to Lindon BH.
No bassboat. I have a 24ft green and tan pontoon boat name Clothing Optional. swing by and introduce yourself.
I have only been in Utah ~4 years. my first doz or so trips to UL were very disappointing. but i eventually figured out a few things. I mostly fish the north end for walleye, whities and cats. Have only fished the southern end a half dozen times. I should venture out and learn some new places, but it is hard for me to pass up the places i know i can catch fish. It is a big lake for sure.
I do venture over to La Nautica and Pelican Point boat ramp to fish those rocks, but not yet. Fishing at the pump house is hit or miss for me. i can load up one day and not find a single bite the next.
I'm impatient and prob expected too much this early. another week or 2 of warm weather and we will have to beat the Wbass off with a stick.
Good luck, and if any of you happen to cross my path, can't miss that big boat, stop by, honk or something. I usually have a vast array of assorted beverages on board to share. from water to... other things.
