this may be a stupid question but how do you guys catch chub? and what is the best way to do it? what do i use for bait? i have never went out to catch chub, but i want to get a bunch for bait [Smile] thanks for all the help [Smile]

Worms on the bottom. Small jig heads or flies. Thats it, they hit anything.

Many of us use casting nets and minnow traps.

i like the minnow trap idea. what would you say is the best bait to bait it with?

I left about 70 on the ice at Scofield yesterday.

I prefer the cheapest dried dog food that I can find.

What setup do you use to get your worms to the bottom. I was thinking of using the standard hook, small leader, swivel and egg weight setup. Do you use a different/better rig?

That rig sounds great, but use 2 hooks, minimal leader and keep it so you can feel everything...bullet weight. They are pretty dumb, you just need to keep moving and do a slow drag along the bottom till you find a school. Start on the dam at settlement canyon and work your way areound casting every 10 feet or so.
