Just wondering if anyone has been up to ririe in the last few days? I have not been there scents last thursday. Anyone have a ice report? Can you still get on the ice? I would like to get one last trip before I call it quits on the ice.
Thanks

As of Saturday evening the ice was still 14" in my hole. The edges are soft and dangerous. I have no idea how long the ice will hold on. It could be safe or it could break up really fast. Last night we still had ice forming in our holes as we fished.
Be careful I would hate to hear of any accidents this late in the ice season.[:/]

Thanks for the update. Do you need a plank to get on the ice or can you still get on it from the dock? How was the fishing?

You could still get on using the ramp. The fishing was great. I just posted a report. I caught all of my fish in between 21-30ft of water. The kokes were all individuals I found them on the vex and coxed them into biting. Kind of weird that they were not in a school.

Just seen your post. Sounds like you had a great time. For the last 4 or 5 times i have fished ririe the kokes have been coming one at a time. If I have seen a school they are gone in no time. I think I will give it a try tomorrow. I will post a report when i get back.

With the exception of the very small first year Kokes the schools generally break up this time of year. They will scatter the length of the lake. As the the melt which begins at the dam, moves upstream the fish will begin to congregate along the seams of ice and open water. I can't wait to launch the boat and get after them!

How deep are the kokes after ice out? Do I need to dig out my downriggers ? I already got my boat sticker and will get out after them. I have not fished Ririe in a boat before and will launch at Juniper. Any suggestions would be a great help.

The Kokes will be in the top 10 feet of the water column until the water temp hits 60 degrees on the surface.
Good Hunting!
