Four of us headed down to Scofield on Saturday to enjoy the sunshine and catch some fish. We met up with IceandFly when we got there and he was kind enough to bring some extra flashers for us to use. My 15 year old brother-in-law loved watching the fish come in and hit his lure. Gotta get me some of those...

Fishing was good from the get-go. Fished from about 7:45 to 12:30 in anywhere from 6 feet to 10 feet of water. End of the day tally, 91 fish between the four of us with only one of them being a chub. Lots of fish in the 10-13 inch range with the nicer ones coming in at around 17". IceandFly had around 30 or so fish by the time we left and he was still going strong. He was nice enough to let me take some of the chubs he had caught to take home and freeze for bait later on.

The day was beautiful. The snow was crusted over so we didn't have to deal with the slush. Only thing I would do over is I would have put on sunscreen. I've been sporting the racoon eyes for the last 2 days...[:p]

Thanks again IceandFly!

Thanks for the report. How was the ice?

Still really thick. Probably about 12-15 inches of solid ice and then a layer of softer ice with some more solid on top with snow on top of that.
