Does anyone know if the ice is off Ottercreek yet?I heard it was close

Have yet to get up there but I am guessing it will be gone in a week at most.

Last saturday......nephew fished through 16" of ice, had to use a plank to get on it. The wind was terrible, he caught two fish.

I called the state park today. Guy there said there is a large area of open water on the south end and people are fishing it from float tubes. Still lots of ice over most of the lake. The guy said it will be another week or week-and-a-half before all ice is gone.

Temps are going to be warm early next week. My guess, the ice will be gone by next Saturday.

Was there this weekend some limited shoreline fishing will likely be 2 weeks or so until ready for the boats.. Next weekend I would imagine you could tube it and fish from shore if it stays warm.

The wind is supposed to pick up tomorrow (Tuesday) -- 32mph prediction. That could pile it all up on the shoreline. If you're looking to get a boat on the OC as soon as the ice comes off, you might want to make some Easter weekend plans....

I was there today. Plenty of room for a boat on the south end. It's open for a couple of hundred yards. It looks like you could fish around the lake a ways, but there's only 50 yds or so of open water. Fishing was not good. I caught one on a fly. There were at least 20 bank fishermen. One group of three was catching fish on powerbait. Piute is ice-free if anyone is interested.

I fished OC today. Plenty of open water but lots of ice still.

And the fishing sucked!!!!! Do not waste your time. Something is wrong with OC and has been over the past 12-18 months. It has steadily declined over the last 18 months abd the fishing is horrible, considering this is ice off fishing. Maybe the full moon had something to do with it.

We caught 2 bows between two of us with 4 hours of fishing and lots of moving, and that is better or as good as everyone else that we saw fishing. One person had a nice 4 lb cut but the rest of the fish were your 16-18" cookie cutters. I am not making another trip down there until some awesome reports start coming in!

What the heck is up with OC lately?[crazy] I went there last summer and didn't catch much and didn't really hear of anybody else catching much as well. I thought people would catch em through the ice then, but I didn't really hear too many people slaying them on the ice either.

Usually that place produces some great football bows.... Hope it turns around soon.

I killed them last spring,it was fast and furious after the ice came off,I went once ice fishing and it was way slow and I never saw any hot reports this winter.Mayne its the low water levels or its fished out??
