Has anyone been down to Firth in the past week or two? I'm thinking about heading up there tomorrow for the day to fish from the river bottoms by the high school. I'll probably fly fish and try some BH rubber legged nymphs and BH woolly buggers. I'll probably just shore fish as I don't have waders or a drift boat

or.......

How is the ice looking on the south eastern Idaho reservoirs? Instead of fishing at Firth I would also consider fishing any reservoir if ice out is starting. Given how badly I want to go fishing, I'd even go to McTucker ponds right now if any of the lakes are starting to open. I've never fished at Springfield and don't know where good spots to shore fish from are so that's what has held me back the last few weeks from there.

I could care less about the size of the fish I catch tomorrow just as long as I get to go out and cast some flies and get some bites. Any recommendations? Big Grin

Thanks in advance!

You might want try Crystal Springs Pond . It never freezes over and they just planted it about a week ago . It is not to far to the river , so if you don't do well there you can always pop over and give that a try . Curt G.
