Fishing Forum

Fished by myself today partner had to work this weekend. Wish he could have been there might have made a difference. It always helps when you have a extra bait in the water especially when you are fishing aginst some of the best fishermen around. I live on the lower end of the lake but those fish aren't up good yet so I stayed in the middle section of the lake. Caught fish mostly shallow but deeper water near by on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Lost one good fish on crank when it jumped I saw it only had the back hook figured going to get one shot with the net which is an art in its self when your by yourself, but wasn't ment to be fish went down before I could get the net in the water and pullled off. Fish bit good in the morning but tailed off when the sun got high, all the boat traffic didn't help. They seemed to turn back on late in the day when the clouds started coming in. Hats off to coleman and grizzle these guys win alot of tournaments in an era with so many watching, gps, and many people doing questionable sportsmanship practices, and not to mention and I know they think about it but its a lot of pressure when your expected to deliver and you know everybody else expects it to. To get it to all go right on that day at that time just shows how good these guys are. I'm still trying to win the first cba , come close on few ocasions, but don't have the time to practice like these guys. It's amazing to think the more you practice the luckier you seem to get. I will add this since Chris has been president of the cba it apears to me that cba has been getting better and better toward getting more people committed to fishing though new formats and more sponsers. Congradulations to all who finished in the money with almost a hundred boats in this tournament but also had to fish aginst all the others on the water jockeying for a place to fish.
