Does anyone know if there is open water at any of the preston area lakes?

I was just going to ask the same question. I passed by Foster on the way to The Narrows today and it was about 50% ice free. I didn't have a chance to check the others, but I'm hoping they're coming off as well. Does anybody know?

Which reservoirs did you check out? I was hoping Treasureton would be coming off soon. I don't think the cold snowy weather this week is going to help much. Oh well, rivers it is for just a bit longer.

Wow, just thought that since foster was about 50% free last week that some more had started opening up even though there has been some snow and lower temps the temps that way had been on the rise and not getting cold enough to really do anything for long. O well guess Ill have to wait a little longer.

Well, it's supposed to be really windy today, and then rain tomorrow, so maybe that will help break up the ice a bit before the colder weather comes.

Treasureton was melting around the edges on saturday, The inlet had open water out to the edge of the trees. Ice looked pretty soft. Should not be long.

My wife is going out of town for spring break next week and I was hoping to get out and hit some good water. Hopefully it will be open by then, and hopefully the weather will be better than this week. Thanks for the info.

Foster won't have a lot of ice on it because it was completely drained last fall and it has been filling all winter.

That's true, I didn't think about that. It got me excited for nothing. Stupid canal company.

Yeah, I don't like winter much. I've been out and about a little bit catching some trout on the fly, but I'm getting pretty anxious for some warm water fishing. I've got a whole mess of new lures I need to try. If you thought I had a lot of lures before, just wait til you see what I have now. I kind of went crazy.

must of won the lottery? you never did show me how to make your plastics. i want to get a 3 inch curly tail mold then have you show me how.

you need to send me your number again... i ran my phone over hunting... and lost all of my numbers

That sucks about your phone, though it's kind of funny. If you want a fully round bait but don't want to spend a fortune, they have those plastic 2 part molds at Janns Netcraft. The only thing is you'll have to buy a $10 injector, but the mold itself is only $5 or $6. They also have senko type molds that work pretty well.
