Does any one know much about deer creek? Is the ice melted yet.. and how is it for walleye fishing right now. and where is a good spot from the shore to fish it..

Well the north end of the lake was clear of ice but it seems that the ice split by the island and now there are big chunks of ice everywhere. I mean football field and bigger size. But non the less I saw people shore fishing from the Island Resort Marina north along the highway.

The walleye bite should kick on in about another week or 2. Last year, I know a fishermen trying the main lake during the spawn had a tough time locating them only to find them stacked up in the river as far as Midway bridge. We'll see what happens this year.
