Fished the MP just west of HWY 40 on Sunday. I got on the water about 10 AM and fished until 1 PM or so. All in all it was pretty slow. I managed to land 5 small ones. Took two on a small hare's ear, two on a zebra midge and one on a copper john. Fish were rollin', but I never did get the dry action figured out. Looked like Blue Winged Olives to me, but I couldn't manage a strike.

Best part of the day came when my 8 year old daughter landed her first fish on a fly rod. I usually get going before first light, but I wasn't feelin' it yesterday. My daughter woke up and wanted to go, so I hung out and waited until she was ready to head out. She landed the first fish of the day, and she did it entirely on her own. It was pretty awesome. Looks like I've got a new fishing buddy.

Not many people when we first got there, only two other cars in the parking area. It filled up pretty quickly though. Didn't feel too bad on the river though. We had room to move around a bit. Only got crowded in on once.

Nice job for your daughter, its pretty exciting for you too. I fished MP on Sunday also bout the same time, I was there in Midway fished one of the bends for a couple hours and landed 5 browns and one whitefish nothing big though. I used red san juan worm, hare's ear, sow bug, and red copper john. People passing by asked if I was catching any they were all getting skunked...it was a little slow.
