We couldn't find squid bait(good fresh stuff)for the Horseshoe so we took a tank of hot sardines to the Southeast Bank and fished for rockfish at around 300 feet. I places two hot dines on a setup with a 16 ounce sinker and dropped it into a cloud of life on the depth finder. We caught some real super groupers to 10 pounds. I have fished the Southeast Bank since the years right after WWll and I have never encountered "slimeys" of this quality on the Bank. The small fish constantly bounce the rod but the big ones bend the rod double and the rod stays bent.

George Van Zant
http:// www.bigfishtackle.com/georgescorner.htm
