I went out to Newton yesterday (Friday). The water was 42 degrees. I launched my boat at about 2:00-2:30 and headed for some of the brushy areas on the west side. The water level is pretty high right now. I started out using a texas rigged curly tail worm, then switched to a tube jig, then went to a green curly tail grub. I didn't get any bites. I marked a big fish at about 26 feet of water near the dam, so I set up my downrigger with a jointed perch pattern and trolled for a half an hour or so. I wasn't really expecting to catch anything this early, and the weather was beautiful, so I still consider it a good day of fishing.

I went out to Newton saturday with the same expectations and was skunked as well... Still nice to get out and just cruise around in the little boat and hang out with the dog on the water...
