Wasn't up to fishing today, so we took a ride around and looked, but didn't fish anywhere.

Hawkins was about 60% ice covered and just about full.

Oxford was completely open and full. -- Does anyone know if there is anything in there?

Twin Lakes was completely open and still about the same level as it was in the fall.

Lamont and Johnson were both completely covered in slush ice and snow mix. -This was a surprise, it must be because they are small? But as I think about it they are actually lower elevation and bigger than Hawkins, so I wonder why.

Foster is open, but didn't drive up to Glendale.

The Bear River in the Narrows below Oneida was looking good and bunches of BWO were hatching.

Oneida Narrows Res is ice free. The road along the res had a few places of mud and some patches of 10" snow. Snow was rutted with tire tracks. There were also a bunch of small rocks littering the road (softball to basketball size).

Stopped by Black Canyon on the Bear R. - bunches of little fish rising to the BWO there also.

It was a nice day for a drive or fishing. Hope you all got out too.

I have only fished a couple times on those south east lakes. Does anybody have an opinion on which lakes that are open might be better for float tubing with a fly rod and sinking line?

I would check on the Malad area lakes. I don't know if they are open or not, but you would probably have a good chance there.
Twin Lakes is usually good for fishing too and it is open.
Oneida was ice free and has fish.
Lamont and Johnson were still ice covered, but they should open soon.
Foster was open but has been drained the last few years and fish and game have stopped restocking it. - not much in there.
Little Oxford is open, but not stocked. Not sure if anything calls it home.
Hawkins is very small, still mostly ice, and prone to getting fished out. It hasn't been stocked yet this year.
