I called a neighbor that I've been fishing with, Jim Frost, at around 7pm tonight and he and his grandson went with me for a short crappie trip. We fished a brushpile to begin with and then hit a dock. We let Pierce reel in all of the fish. We all had a great time. Pierce is 7 years old and had lots of questions about fishing and especially about the trolling motor. We ended up with 15 crappie with 5 keepers in just over an hour of fishing. No pics tonight but we caught 2 fat prespawn female white crappie as two of the keepers. The docks that had so many little fish last week were very stingy tonight but the fish that came from them were good spawned out females in the 12 -13 inch range. We had a great short trip, that's for sure. Most of the fish off the brushpile came at about a 10-11 count as the water has come up quite a bit. The fish from the dock were still at about a 6 count but the presentation had to be very slow. I didn't check the water temp but it felt as if it was warming back up again. We uses PAs on 1/32 oz jigs.
