Took a trip up to Deer Creek On Saturday morning, I was worried because the entire drive up there the wind was blowing pretty hard, but once I crested the top of the canyon and saw the lake, it was like a giant mirrior, and continued to be the whole day! I was happy. Launched at the state park boat ramp, looked like there were already 2 dozen or so boats on the lake. Water temp was 39 degrees and air temp was 47. I trolled the shoreliines of the entire lake using popgear, rainbow trout colored Rapalas and the downrigger. I was about 100 feet out and anywhere from 15-45 ft down. I caught 2 good size Rainbows and only managed to snap a pic of one before releasing him. I had so much fun and the weather was so amazing that I returned on Sunday with my Fiance and the tables turned, she caught 2 and I was skunked. enjoy the pics.
