Anyone have any recent reports I was thinking of going tomorrow

Everything I have heard is that there are still fish being caught all over the river. My buddy went this last weekend and fished the x-hole and caught 22. Another buddy went up near Ellis and caught over 10. I don't really think it matters where you go, you will probably catch fish anywhere.

I fished near Sunbeam Dam and the Yankee Fork on Friday and Saturday and did well. There was a lot of fisherman and everyone was catching fish. [cool]

Any suggestions on what they are hitting

floated challis area last week. I only managed to land 4 but each guy I was with landed a dozen or so...most on trout beads. They were my first steelies on the flyrod so it was well worth the drive!![cool]

I'm hoping to go on Thursday for a day trip. Hopefully it will be good. If anyone else is going let me know, maybe we can team up or even carpool.

Thinking of heading up Saturday evening or Sunday morning from Boise. No luck on the last trip (3 weeks ago) even though others were catching fish, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Still looking to get my first Salmon River steelhead!

Best advice I can give is persistence. Other than that, try trout beads. 8-10 mm in red or red/orange coloration, seems to be doing well this year.

My brother caught 4 yesterday just down from Stanley. If he can catch one the fishing must be fantastic. He's been trying for 10 yrs with no luck. Even the guides won't take him anymore because of his bad luck [pirate]
Now that he has the stunk off maybe it will be easier for him [crazy]

We've been doing well with a bead, or rubber egg dropper. And then a small orange corkie in front of a black or green woolly bugger. We fished next to an anchored drift boat that was nailing them on green rubber worms. Send me a PM if you want more details.
