its been along time since i casted my 8 weight, so for pratice i tossed one of my pups toys on the end today.my 8 weight compared to my orvis rod.... its like trying to cast a piece of rebar... we had some fun though and he FIGHTS!!!

I love my 8 weights. My BIIx is lighter than a 5 weight, and my Orvis TL 10'er has a 3" fighting butt.
Building a Hardy Glass/Graphite 8 er and I want to put a 6" fighting butt for Carp.
