Two reports for the price of one. 4/14 - got on water solo about 11:30. First cast on first dock caught best fish of the day, 13 1/2" crappie. Could not get another bite there??. Hit a spawning shoreline and picked up 3 11-12" fish. The spawn seems over now and most of the fish have moved on to wherever. I have not fished here in the spring and summer before, so I am doing a lot of looking to find fish. I hit a couple of main lake docks and got into some fish on both. Ended the day with 19 Crappie of which 12 were solid keepers, rest smalls. Fish seemed a little deeper than previous trip. 1/16 and 1/32 jigs with bg shad in various colors.

Report #2 - 5/15, met Jerry at CFP about 8:30 and the parking lot was full of trailers again. Nobody goes to work anymore, lol. We made our first stop on a dock with 10-12' of water and immediatelly got into some good fish. Jerry caught the largest, a nice 13 3/4" slab. I think we caught 6 real good fish there and they stopped. Couldn't get another bite. This was to be our pattern most of the day. Next stop Jerry caught a nice white crappie and a Smallmouth Bass. I managed to snag a couple also. We had a couple of strikeouts on the next docks we tried and had to keep moving around to find a few fish. I think they must be in transistion and not totally committed to the docks, or just feeding occasionally. Docks that held some good fish last Friday gave us nothing. I still think the fish were there, we just couldnt get them going. We varied lures and directions quite a bit.

Anyway it was a beautiful day out, Jerry caught the biggest fish and I caught the most emoPoke . We ended the day with 30 crappie of which 15-18 were good solid keepers and the rest smalls, and one SM Bass. We came in about 2:15 as Jerry had an appointment and we both are getting old and tire easily emoGeezer. Fish are widely scattered now and you have to work on them to find some good fish. We covered quite a bit of water today to find the ones we caught.

Regards, Labman
