I know that both lakes are free of Ice, has anyone been up recently to either lake? What is the water temp and are there any suggestions on which one to hit tomorrow? I would assume the water temp is still too low for bass in both lakes.

Hyrum is realy slow I think there was alot taken out thru the Ice. talking to the bass fisherman its very slow too. we have piced up 2 or 3 on a 3 hr trip. Tiger trout and bows. it is getting realy muddy from the run off the last week. if you go try pop gear and worm. or spoons on top. good luck

Haven't heard much from anyone about catching much out of Hyrum. All I've heard and seen are people catching a few rainbows and an occassional tiger here and there. No real size.
Mantua is a little different. I have been out there the last couple of weekends and have had really good success. Yesterday I talked to some other guys that were leaving that had really good success throughout the week. I plan on heading out there again this weekend if time allows me to do so.

The trout fishing in both lakes should be good right now after the last few days of warm weather, try trolling small rapalas and spoons or castmasters. Bass fishing will be slow for a few more weeks. If I where you I would focus on Mantua for bass, Hyrum bass, for some reason don't always act like bass!

Both buds I have talked to have been doing well at Hyrum for the last week and 1/2 trolling.

Hyrum is certainly not slow, we caught 12 in about an hour till the #%*&^ blew us off the lake. I would opt for there until Mantua heats up. Troll any of your favorite lures from 0' to 10 feet on no particular area.

That's nice to hear about Hyrum. Glad to know people are catching fish out there. I have a pontoon, so I don't get to troll at all. But I still like to get out there and fish. Thanks for the report.
