Does anyone know if 21st street pond is open for fishing? I noticed they stocked it but the parking is closed off a friend told me.

I don't know when your friend tried to go there but the parking lot has been full of trucks every time I've gone by it this past week. It is for sure open, fishable, and parkable.

[laugh]Yea you're right, My friend just told me that is open now. He just forgot to tell me. Are you allowed to eat the fish from there now. I know they closed it for some time because of bad water. Also have you gone there fishing? If so let me know how you did. Thanks

I just fished it tonight, caught a bunch of little trout, blue guill and a bass. Nothing big enough to keep. The DWR sign said you can keep a max of 2 fish per person. So i assume It's safe now. We had a blast, you should check it out!

I stopped by there yesterday and it was open. I didn't fish so I can't report on the fishing. I asked about putting my pontoon in and did some research. I think this is the pond that the mayor gave to some water ski company and noone else is allowed to put boats in. I'm not certain of that. Does anyone know anything about that?

You are not allowed to wade or use a boat, float tube or toon, and yes it is owned by a i think water ski company.

It's under the ownership of Ogden City. Leased out to the Ski Company.
There are signs that let you know where you can fish. A lot of the best fishing is closed though. Too bad

I wish that Ogden City would change it back to where we can fully utilize the pond again. I used to take my kids there on float tubes back in the day. We had a lot of fun then.
It's a very nice pond and close to home.

Don't get me started on that pond.. just a bad deal all around. Correct Ogden city owns it..Ski company leases it. So the ski company makes all the rules. So of coarse for safety reasons they don't want people out on the water. What makes me mad is that from what i understand it was closed due to pollution. Union pacific cleaned it up. DWR put some fish in the to monitor the PCB levels. When It was all clear they started to stock it Then The Mayor signs it over to the ski company and the then came all the rules... I read in The paper that When he leased it to them he did it without getting it approved by the city counsel or whoever so there was talk about that being illegal.but of course nothing came of it. The paper also said it is a 50 year lease!!!%&$*#( apparently the ski company was a supporter of his campaign. what a joke... The Sad thing is that they do even use it very often from what I have seen. I drive by there all the time a rarely see a ski boat. All I see are a bunch of fisherman cramed into the few spots that you can fish from. at least if they would clear some of the shore line more people could enjoy it.

maybe I don't have the whole story but this is what I know.
