I went against my typical regimen of artificials, considering that the water is still too cold for fish to be chasing down jigs or lures, and did some good ol' fashioned worm chucking. It was annoying to break away from staying busy casting to obvious spots on the river with some of my preferred presentations, but when the river is right next to you then you gotta try whatever is working.... even if it involves impaling night crawlers.
I caught several Utah suckers. It wasn't hard to tell when that was the fish biting because they nibble over and over and you don't set the hook until they vacuum the bait up.Their mouths remind me of those flying creatures in the cave where Han Solo landed the Millennium Falcon in The Empire Strikes Back. Ended up with at least twenty of those and 2 tiny channel cats. I was hoping for a stray walleye or some white bass but that wasn't in the cards. I won't even pretend to know what the crappie are doing here in the lower section of the river or if they are even abundant enough to target down here.
I can't complain. I caught quite few fish and the suckers were anywhere between 2-4 lbs. I would just rather catch some white bass on jigs or spinners and bust those powerful little fighters every cast then get a 20 second run out of a big sucker. Oh well; I got my fishin fix.

Sounds like you at least had some fast action.

I made it out to the Jordan this weekend but found the water pretty fast on the section just north of Oxbow. Trying do decide if I want to load up on weight and let it sit on the bottom for a while
