I wanted to check a couple things out today so I went down to American Fork boat harbor. Launched the boat, did my fishin' thing but as I was leaving I noticed the invasive species paper on my dashboard from Sand Hollow last weekend. I assume that private marinas are not required to have boaters fill out the papers like state parks do. Does anyone have any information regarding private marinas and quagga mussels? If the state wants to keep the mussels out you would think that they have already thought about it. There were quite a few boats out from AF and not one was asked about where they had been previously.

How did you get to the Marina? taking the pleasant grove lindon exit it looks like the road is torn up.

Same thing at lindon boat harbor i think we need to call the state and report this problem

I only know the one way, AF exit south of Lehi-right turn-right at Sinclair? (across from Chevron) left under freeway-right turn at block building [crazy]-over the tracks and continue to AF boat harbor.
I can't imagine that the state does not know that there are going to be hundreds of boats at Utah Lake that have not been questioned about previous outings to other lakes.
Has anyone launched from the Provo state park and filled out the quagga mussel questionnaire?

I saw Provo's. Yes, they have the mussel leaflets. I thought I saw them at Lindon too.

Fastest way to AF Harbor, take the new Pleasant Grove Exit, head west till you hit the Harbor road, turn left, and you are there.
All marinas on the lake should have boat checks. If not, DWR and Parks Dept need to be notified.
check that! that road is closed. you can not go from Lindon exit, STRAIGHT through to Harbor road. it is blocked off at the Bus Barn. When you come to the road block, turn right, go down a "country block" turn back left to harbor road, then turn left and head to the boat ramp...

Thanks for the directions. I like that little marina and havent been able to get to it. Ive been taking the wrong exit!! As for Lindon, take the pleasant grove lindon exit. Take a right, your first left and follow the road and it will run you right into it.

I guess it all narrows down to public awareness and personal responsibility. It's the personal responsibility end that has me concerned. That lake has enough problems already. Maybe all of the harbors, city or state, should offer a discount upon inspection.... or a "muscles are for body builders" sign at the entrances of any boat launching place. Somehow I just don't think the power squadron takes the whole thing as seriously as the fishermen do.

I know last year they always talked to me and had me sign the pledge. Haven't seen anybody there yet this year.
