It was a nice sunny day Saturday so we tried Pelican Lake for a couple of hours mid-day. Fishing was not red hot, but we managed 15 or so mediocre bass and about that many bluegill.
We did best on the East shoreline using 2" plastic grubs. Color varied. The fish were right in the visible reeds. My 6 yr. old son had the knack for it catching the most.
There were more boats there than I would have thought. I counted 15 trailers when we left around 1:30. My fish finder has water temp peak at 58 degrees.

Thanks for the report. What was the water clarity like? I know the wind can really kick up there and turn things aweful murky?

hey what's the temperature that turns the bass spawn on? I seem to forget every year!

The water was quite murky and made seeing submurged cover quite difficult.
I've always thought that 60 degrees is the magical temp mark for largemouth to spawn, but I'm sure other factors also contribute.
