I heard a report from a guy I work with saying that last weekend he was out at Mann Lake in Lewiston fishing for catfish. He said that he got there a little before sundown and had caught a couple trout that he used for bait. He then proceeded to fish throughout the night and said that when he was done he had caught 15 cats between up to 2 lbs and that one was 11lbs.
Does anybody know if the catfishing there is any good right now? I would really like to go and try. I might go this Friday, if I do I'll post how it turns out.

Do you trust the guy you work with? If so, it sounds like they are biting right now.

You might want to talk to the Fish and Game. I was told that Mann Lake is closed at night to fishing. I was told that by Robert Hand the Regional Biologist. If the guy at work was telling the truth I bet the F&G want to know about it. Ron

Eh, I kind of trust the guy. He doesn't look like a liar, but then again I don't really know him.
Oh, and I think you're right idahoron. Do you know though if it is closed cause the park is closes at sundown or because the water is actually protected against fishing during the nighttime. I couldn't find anything in the Idaho fish and game rule book, but I will call them tomorrow. Either way I guess you're really not supposed to be there at night, dang. Guess I'm not fishing at night haha.

Like I said call and talk to Robert Hand. Then tell him what you found out. Ron

This is the special rules for Mann Lake in the fishing regs. It doesn't say anything about it being closed to fishing during the night. However if the surrounding land is closed at night it could be trespassing. Not sure how that works exactly.

Just in case anybody wanted to know...
Called fish and game, amongst a couple of other places and found out that Mann Lake is not legally protected against night fishing but the land that it is on and I guess the lake itself is actually private property and it is closed at night. So, yup can't fish there. haha, dang.

All I can say is spread the word that it ic closed at night. Making the landowner mad and loosing a fishing spot would stink. Ron
