Thinking about taking my wife to DeerCreek Friday just from the shore.
What has been working for you up there? Any favorite spots you don't mind sharing?

Assuming you dont want to pay the park fee, you want to catch slimers and you dont mind hiking fifty feet down a hill. You can park a quarter mile southwest of island park and hike down to a good spot. The water is fifty feet deep fifty feet from shore. Easy place to cast spinners, cranks, or a worm on a hook and catch some fishies.

You can also go up towards Midway on the Charlston bridge area, dayuse there is only 5bucks and there is always good fishing off the bridge around it to either side, watch out for the rocks on the bottom of the river though, they eat baits so use something cheap and take a TON of it with you. I usually use a 15 pound main line and a 6 or 8 pound leader with a light wire hook so i can pull hard enough to straighten it out if it get stuck in the boulders. or just break off the leader and hook and not my whole rig, I also use a sliding weight above the swivle so i dont lose that either. worms or rainbow power bait there, or the secret weapon, green and flo. orange power bait rolled together. LOL. you will NOT go home empty handed. you still have to take all that stuff out with you...and you have a good chance you will get into some fish.

That sounds good. When you say a quarter mile southwest of island park i am having a hard time finding where you mean on google earth. Is there a pull of there? is it near the boat ramp or keep going toward provo canyon?
Thanks!
