Full Version: Most Species Caught BFT Flag Contest
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
We have one remaining flag to give away. For those who want to compete the contest begins immediately and all posts must be dated no later than Tuesday June 1, 2010. The contest is to see which BFT member can catch the most different species of fish. Here are the rules:

1) Only fish taken legally from Utah public waters by "Angling" count. Reciprocal waters count as Utah public waters.
2) The fish can be kept or released.
3) Both game fish and nongame fish count equally.
4) Only one fish from the same species counts.
5) Cuttbows, Bonneville cutthroat and Bear Lake cutthroat count as the same species (sorry -- difficult to tell them apart in a photo).
6) Bluegill and Green Sunfish count as the same species (sorry -- difficult to tell them apart in a photo).
7) Albino trout will count as a separate species (so one could [#000000]catch[/#000000] a typical rainbow trout and an albino rainbow trout and count them as two different species caught). We realize they are the same species, but for our purposes we will pretend that they aren't.
8) Length and weight of fish does not matter.
9) [#000000]Posts must include species of fish, date caught and the name of the body of water.[/#000000]
10) A picture must be attached to your post, and you must also have a sign in the picture that reads:
[#000000][size 5]"BFT2010" [/size][/#000000]
[#000000]The sign can be black or any other lettering, as long as the lettering is large and dark enough to show in the photo.[/#000000]
11) The attached photo should be named the species of the fish. For example: "Wiper.jpg"
12) If the moderators are unable to identify the fish, because the fish or photo is too small, the picture is too blurry, or for whatever other reason the fish will be disqualified.
13) Participants should make one reply to the thread titled "Entries BFT Flag -- Most Species Caught Contest" and each time they add a new fish they should edit their post and add the next species caught (always adding the next species to the bottom of the post).
14) In case of a tie the person who posted their tieing fish earliest will be declared the winner.
15) Post your questions to this thread and refer back to these rules from time to time, because based upon the questions the rules may need to be tweaked some.
16) The decision of the moderators is final.

Gotta be able to catch the fish to take pictures of first.[:p] hopefully the weather will cooperate. The only pic I got of a fish lately was in Grand Junction CO and according to your rules it don't count.[:/] Maybe later this week.[Smile]

If your interested in getting a flag, it's looking like all you'll need to do is post one fish and you'll win. No one else must be interested[:/].

O'well, guess I'll just stay lost. Better yet have to make up some signs and get a new Big Fish sticker .

Thanks for the op.

Just over a week left. A single picture could get you a flag. I'm sure someone wants to catch a fish this week.

...with you in the picture holding the fish...

This can be tricky when you fish alone and you are not keeping the fish. [:/]
[signature]
Yep it could. Perhaps you can fish near some other folks who can snap a picture or two for you.

Well it's the last weekend of the contest and a long weekend at that[Smile]. I'll talk to Kent and see if we can make this contest a little simpler. Sure would like to give this flag to one of you. It looks like one photo will win it at this point.

The phrase in red above has been deleted from the rules. Let's give this flag away.

[#000000][/#000000]Lets see _ Member - Yes
[#000000][/#000000]_ Fish 2010 - Yes
[#000000][/#000000]_ BFT2010 Tag - Yes
[#000000][/#000000]_ Species of Fish "Carp" - Yes

[#000000][/#000000]Looks like a winner to me. Think the club should give the 10 year Model a flag to.

Wait a minute did he follow all the rules, looks like we will have to a panel review the rules intend. Stay posted final ruling will be posted after formal investigation .
Actually, we are trying to decide if Photo Shop was used for the BFT2010 tag and if it was, should we allow it[:/].
[signature]
The rules didn't specifically state that one could not use Photo Shop and considering you came the closest to following all of the rules you are the winner with one fish. PM me your name and address.

We moderators hoped to bring a little fun and excitement to the boards with these flag contests; however, despite many members indicating that they wanted a flag, apparently we have failed in coming up with a contest that the members wanted to get behind and actively participate in.

Holly cow, why didn't you post those on the 31th or the 1st?[frown] I know you caught them before the 1st of June deadline but I think the rules state they must be posted no later than the 1st of June.
