So after my pontoon failure at Willard I was able to replace it with a slightly used, but in great shape, NFO H3. So I took it out for a first try today at the Knolls. I got there just a bit before noon with water temps right near 60. I fished the north end of the Knolls today trying to find some cats in the shallow reeds. Carp where everywhere making a splash or just sticking their noses into the air and gasping a bit. There were not many others in the area out on the water. South along the shore there were some fishing form the shore but I never saw if any of them did any good. There was a small aluminum boat that was further north then I was that was working really close to the reeds in just a couple feet of water. I ended up landing 2 fair sized carp that gave me some fun working them in as well as a pair of cats that made for a nice dinner tonight. I think it was close to 4pm when I got off the water and water temps had gone up to 63. Not a lot of fish for the time out but it was really nice with very little wind.

Since this was my first trip out on my H3, as well as a first on a float tube, I figured I'd go embarrass myself all my myself. In the end it was easier to work with via fins then my pontoon was. Sitting lower in the water a bit was a bit of a perk since my legs were deeper in the water making it easier to do fuller strokes with the fins. Having the side pockets that close compared to the toon is a real perk too as they make great arm rests. Short story of it is I'm now a very happy Tube'r and all that much less of a Toon'er. The PVC setup I made for my left hand side worked out well holding the extra poles as well as the finder:

Now so long as Monday stays looking like the weather is looking good I'll be heading out again and hopefully have an even more productive trip.
