Fished the third leg of the BFL Choo-Choo Division Tournament on Guntersville today. Drew out B.A.S.S. Pro Terry Tucker. We started along a rip rap bank and were soon joined by 4-5 other boats. We left a short time later and fished swimbaits in the back of a shallow slough where Terry landed one that pushed 7 lbs while I'm catching it's little brothers. After an hour or so, we began hitting shallow docks where Terry put on a clinic the rest of the day. He ended up weighing in over 20 lbs. Me? Managed to weigh in 2 keepers for 7 1/2 lbs but had to wade through 25 or so small ones to get them. Storms rolled in around noon. The wind and lightning was monstrous at times but we kept on fishing. Both my keepers were caught on a Berkley Chigger Craw in Green Pumpkin. Terry pitched nothing but a green pumpkin jig the rest of the day. For those wondering, Terry gave me ample room to fish and intentionally left brushpiles and laydowns alone to give me first shot. Unfortunately, I couldn't take advantage of the opportunity and boated one short fish after another. David Marr (my travel partner) and I drove by Academy sports yesterday before we headed south. Ran into Richard Simms and DitchDoc666 (who only works there to support his lure habit).
