My striper club buddy Paul took me out to Echo today, wanted to show me one of those great Echo fishing days. He did!! We landed 56 today! It was amazing for me, never could have imagined catching that many in one outing. Most were 1 - 1.5lb but at least 10 or more were over 2lbs closer to 3lbs. I guess the guys with the striper club weren't pulling my leg when they said summers up at Echo were crazy. Using the lighter tackle made it alot of fun also, thought the pole as gonna snap a few times. Looking forward to more days like that.

Thats good to hear Chad! I missed those days. if you dont mind, might I ask what kind of bait and rig you're using; if you were on a boat, what water depth; and what time of the day were you there? thanks!

Yeah Willy, we were on a boat, trolling the small swim shad in 8-25 feet of water. Rig wise, we both had 2 poles all day, each of us had one heavier pole that we use primarily for trolling big plugs and one smaller pole that is used for bait fishing. I had flouro on both mine, Paul had braid on his. We got on water around 6:30am, got heavy into the fish from 8am thru 11am. We were off the water by 1:15 or so. Fish were still biting when we left, it just slowed down a bit towards 12:00. Would have stayed longer but it's a long drive back to Vegas and Paul needed a nap.

As for your guide services Paul, much appreciated. We will definately be out on the big boat soon, hopefully.

[left]Thanks for the detailed info. Man i miss the good fishing days. Never been out to the overton arm before... is echo bay the best place to launch?

Willy as far as I know Echo is the only place left to launch that close to Overton. I'm not real familiar with that area myself, but I haven't heard of another place closer to Overton that is launch worthy. If your not launching a real big boat I'd imagine one could find a decent shoreline launch at Stewarts Point. Be careful though, I had to use 4 wheel to climb out of the area I launched my little 10' boat sat. I probably wouldn't have gone to where I did had I been towing a boat.
