Alvin and I hit the Riverpark a little after 2 PM today and fished until a little after 8. What a great day to be on the water. I decided to not chase my pets today and we never went further down river than downtown.

Started the day off on a good spawning bank and the fish were wide open. Most of the spots we caught off this bank we in the 14-16" range with a couple around 17". Alvin got one that was spawned out and would have gone over 3 pre-spawn. The largemouths were active too, I lost one over 3 and another one right at 3 off this bank.

We left there at around 60 bass in the boat and hit 3-4 different area catching fish in most of them. We ended the day fishing rip rap and continuned to catch fish until we put bass 100 in the boat. Totals for today were:

17 largemouth (2 nice keepers in the 2.5-2.75 lb range)
83 spots (Alvin got a chunky 3 lber for out biggest spot)
27 google eyes
1 channel cat
2 drum (got a 10 lber and a 15 lber)
3 redbreasts
1 white bass (no idea what he was thinking)

134 fish in the boat today, 100 of them were bass. That is a bass catch rate of 16.7 bass per hour. Over 50 of our 83 spots were over 12" with most being in the 14-16" range. The females are up dropping eggs with the full moon today just like they are susposed to. The google eyes are starting their spawninng however the redbreasts are still a ways off. Most of our 134 fish came on black/blue pig n jigs, some on tubes, one on topwater and a couple on spinnerbaits. Water temps were 66-67.

Going back tomorrow with Polo and Tyler Ware, should be fun.
