Fished the Nell today, the wind was low to light at first but only got worse as the day went on...

Got 6 browns from 22" to 26" and one bow and one cut and 3 bass from 17" to just over 18" all was on the drop shot in water 20' and deeper but for the cut it came from 5' deep..

Water temps was 45 to 46, wind blow me off at 1:30...

Thanks for the report bassrods, I really have enjoyed them this year. I am excited out of my mind for the smallmouth[Smile]. In your opinion at what water temp/time of year do they start getting active in Jordanelle? any info would be a huge help.

Thanks bassrods,

You get mad when you catch browns bassrods? haha. I bet you have caught some nice ones over the years bass fishing.

You think you have a giant bass and then up comes a slimer[frown]

Thanks for the report. What is your best guess on when the water temp will reach 50 plus?[fishin]

Do you drop shot gulp minnows for the browns? I have never drop shot'd for trout, however, i am sure it was not your intention. I would also be interested to know when thw smallies start turning on because i just got a boat and am stoked for that.

three years ago (?) we were dropshotting gulp minnows for smallies at Jordanelle (after attending a BFT dropshotting seminar at Willow Pond). My dad caught the biggest trout of his life--a big 'ole brown, so, whether it's the best way or not, it certainly works.

If or when we have 2 to 3 days of warm weather they could be up and feeding better...

No not mad, but you can tell by the bite if its a trout or bass..

The pictures did not come out very good but as soon as I can get them off the camera I will post them, we had our computer in for a new mother board (I think that is what they called it) and we can't get the pictures off need a new or reprogram or what ever...

Yes I do use gulp for trout, who used them first???could not say...
The water could be in the 50's in three days or so if yes if we get any warm days this year...[Wink]

With three good warm days the bass will be up but we need the warm days...
