Has anyone had a chance to use the relatively new flourocarbon Spiderwire? The store folks rave about it, but they are trying to sell it. I am looking for an opinion from someone that has actually used the stuff.

I have use most of the lines available. Some may be better than others, but ultimately
it is your decision.
Honestly i have been using a $2 dollar spool of line and have had no problems. I have also used $15 dollar spools. I've fished very successfully with a rod that was missing the first 6inches.
What i am getting at is you don't need to buy expensive gear to have a good day of fishing. Most of the gear out their is intended to catch fishermen not fish.
I fish for steelies and salmon from the bank. Over the years i have found that all the gear i need fits right in my vest.
On the other hand the only way for you to find what gear is best for you is too try it out. Fishing line is fairly inexpensive. I'd say go ahead and buy a spool and try it out.

under the right set up, spiderwire is an excilent product,

Spiderwire is not the right product for every rig, the question is, what is your set up, Rod and Reel, and what are you targeting?

I like it for trout fishing [Image: bobwink.gif]
But it fades after 2-3 months. so what i did was take the line off that was faded and put it closer to the reel.

I like spider better then fireline
the black fireline sucks
